Chapter 6 Vortex of Chaos I drove to my sister’s place and then went over to the coast with my brother to see Tina and meet Helen’s new husband. Although I had met him before, it was not in his present capacity. I knew him as a bit of a crazy painter and I liked his vibrant style but now he was being stepfather to my child and husband of her mother. The few stories I’d heard about him fitted with his quirky, artist psyche but there was a lot more to it than I knew at that stage. JR had had a long-term fascination with Helen. I’m sure many men who met her also did. But he’d been pushed along, encouraged and somewhat deceived by one particular women who I wouldn’t even call a feminist. She had for some reason, I’d never worked out, seemed to want to make trouble for me. First time I set eyes on her she was standing on her head, naked.
