Chapter 7 Demon’s Teeth The drive to Sydney took us seventeen hours. I drove while the girls dozed. And then another ten hours back north after I’d had a sound night’s sleep at my sister’s place. The next afternoon we arrived at the property but it was raining heavily, and had been for days, so it was impossible to get our things to the house without borrowing the neighbors four-wheel-drive and when we did get to the house it was such a filthy mess that Sarina muttered, "No-one could live in that!" As usual a squatter had taken up residence while I’d been away so the place was a mess.
